Dave Nails It

Dave isn't afraid to dive deep into the wells of Christian sectarianism. The church very seriously needs to find a way to maintain the noble pursuits of honest doctrine, and I think Dave makes a very strong case for how to do so, with emphasis on "loving unity". He proposes a unique approach to pursue theological depth, despite how little Christians read their Bibles in earnest, and he speaks truth in depth to biblical discernment, unafraid to address issues of unity here as well. Indeed, "Christians need not choose between speaking the truth and living in love." Dave argues we can do both. He says "It will never be easy, but there is a path to follow."

I was initially skeptical of another unity book, but he is a genuine man, and this is a genuine book. I highly recommend it.

11th Edition - A fantastic and concise textbook

If someone who is just starting to learn about digital systems or even someone who has years worth of experience in this field, asks me what's the best book in the market to get a thorough grip on the fundamentals of digital systems, this is the book. I may not have read every book, but I'll tell you this, it definitely won't get any better.

It elucidates every point with numerous and well explained examples, from what binary numbers are to analog/digital conversion methods, memory, RAM structure, etc. It is worded in almost layman's terms so the essence is easy pick up. Practical and relevant problems are given which further reinforce understanding. You also can't explain digital systems today without talking about VHDL and AHDL (Hardware Description Languages - HDL). Not only are the concepts explained through examples and diagrams, they're also covered by the HDL's, so if you're a college student where you'll most likely be introduced to them, this is ideal.

I don't I need to say anything more, as it's very clear how strongly I think of this book. Get it, it will make a huge difference in your understanding.

Tenth Edition is almost identical to the current Eleventh Edition. Most of the problems are identical. Others have four additional items added. Book is well written with many problems. Many answers are given but appear random as opposed to answers to every odd question.

This in the best book I have read introducing digital electronics. It is much more in depth then other books on the market. The examples go in to a level of detail that gives you a much better understanding of how certain concepts work. This is the only book I have come across that actually describes how the various logic families (CMOS, TTL) work on a transistor basis. Just great!

Continued revelation, continued inspiration....

This is by far, the best devotional I have ever read.... I've grown so much this year from these readings which "happen" to be so timely... Jon has a gift for getting down to the nitty gritty to the A of the OIA (observation, interpretation, application) that most often is missing in many commentatries.... This book goes through the new testament in order in a year... He pulls out the gold nuggets and the readings are so awesome and so INSPIRED that I read them twice! Cost/Value is unbelievable for what you're getting. A private tutor to mentor you for a year, or as many times you want to read this book. Listen, this is coming from someone who does not enjoy reading and really has a somewhat negative view of the concept of devotionals just to qualify this review. The only other devotional comprable is A TABLE IN THE WILDERNESS by Watchman Nee... I read that two years in a row. I've read MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST and others, and I'm telling you that there will be no buyers remorse on this one. In fact, I'm giving it away as Christmas presents this year. What I love about Jon Courson is that he's just so down to earth and uses such great analogies that I truly "get" what it is he's trying to convey. He simplifies things. This devotional is packed with powerful yet brief messages for the new believer or the well seasoned.

It's also the perfect gift for those who believe, but perhaps aren't really walking with the Lord as it's not "preachy"...and yet it has messages of truth.
