This edition of wicked cool shell scripts is truly useful. It takes a Maker Scrapbook approach to illustrating BASH :-)

101 Useful, or Imaginative Applications of the BASH language are given, ranging from automatically backing up your files and applications to Google Drive (and other cloud services), to Image and Photo Manipulation, to finding Prime Numbers. Like other Maker Scrapbook books, it gives trully interesting, useful and exciting applications of the technology, and tells how they can be easily hacked/modified to your tastes. While there is a gradual pace from the simplest projects, to the most complex and sophisticated this is different than the typical approach to learning BASH or another programming language. The power of the language and other Linux tools are well illustrated, as are some hints on how these applications (the book's shell scripts) can be modified to meet differing needs Some readers without a basic knowledge of the widely available BASH shell may wish to have another, more conventional, programming tutorial at hand to learn basic variables, control structures, etc.

The availability of BASH on OS X and Windows 10 is documented, however more information on differences and actual use are given for OS X due to the extreme recency of Canonical/Microsoft's BASH/Ubuntu Shell on Windows.

An exciting scrapbook of BASH applications that do interesting things in Linux, OS X and Windows.

The Girl at the End of the World, by Richard Levesque

Her fight begins the day the world ends.

Scarlett Fisher is an average California teenager. She likes hanging out with her friends and talking on the phone. She does all right at school, and she's made the best of her parents' divorce. But in one way, she's special: on her fifteenth birthday, a fast-moving plague wipes out everyone she’s ever known, yet somehow it passes her by.

Her family dead, alone in a corpse-strewn metropolis, she has no choice but to survive. She needs food, shelter, a safe place to sleep. She discovers that an ordinary girl is capable of extraordinary things, and that she's more resilient than she imagined. Even so, she wishes more than anything that she could just find another survivor.

Unfortunately for Scarlett, not everyone who survived the plague is looking for companionship. And she’s about to find out just how difficult survival really is.

This city would be great, if it weren't for all the people.
By Bryce Anderson
Through the eyes of a California teenager, we watch the collapse of the world into silence. The plague is fast and thorough, leaving Scarlett virtually alone in Los Angeles. The early part of the book does a great job of capturing her confusion and isolation, first as the plague picks off her friends and family one by one, then as the eerie calm settles upon a depopulated metropolis.

It's hard to explain the plot further without giving away major spoilers. All I will say is, she starts meeting other survivors, and things get a whole lot worse.

I really enjoyed Levesque's previous book, _Strictly Analog_. This book is very different, certainly more reminiscent of dystopian YA than William Gibson. I'm not a particular fan of YA, and _The Girl_ does rely on a couple of tropes that I think plague the genre. The main character, while likable, is portrayed as surprisingly competent and resilient (unrealistic, but practically necessary for this sort of story). Scarlett's thoughts also seem very advanced for her age, almost as though she were in her mid-twenties. Here Levesque sacrifices a little bit of plausibility for a lot of interestingness, which I guess is a good trade.*

_The Girl at the End of the World_ is good dystopian, with a dark, gritty feel and people pushed to the brink (and beyond) by fear and hardship. The collapse is depicted with the inevitability and violence of rolling storm, leaving silence and death in its wake. You get a real sense of Scarlett's terror: the lonely nights, the fear that nobody is out there, the fear that somebody is out there. She lives in terror of the known and unknown dangers that lurk outside her door, and that fear is made worse by the fact that there's not much to do to keep her mind off her worries.

It's hard to discuss the rest of the book without giving away major spoilers. But it kept me hooked right up to the end. The book is well written, with interesting, complex characters. The book may be a little harsh for YA's intended audience. Or I might just be overprotective, in which case I think teenagers might really enjoy it.

[*] Actually, there's a bit of a spoiler-alerty reason for the apparent maturity of the narrator, but I'd rather not get into it.

Post Apocalypse Done Right.
By Richard A. Kirkham
This is an extremely well written story about the survivors of a deadly plague. It is written from the perspective of a fifteen year old girl and the author has an ear for what sounds true. The slowly developing catastrophe is sufficiently creepy and the brutality of it's toll is shared with a heavy heart but the right degree of hopeful spirit. I enjoyed the set up in the first act immensely, the mix of media panic, family fear and blunt reality about how the world might be when depopulated .

There are some very nice touches that will saddened you but also make you see how well realized this story is. Once the twists start, the plot becomes a little less surprising. It is very serviceable and does keep you interested in the outcome. I'll be recommending this to my daughter who is a fan of these types of stories. Take a few hours and enjoy this brief novel that begins with the best written set-up of a apocalyptic scenario I've read in a long time.

Highly recommended!

Funny how you find things sometimes. Someone on a writers' discussion board posted a link to Immerse Or Die. I began looking at some of the blogger's reviews and found this one promising enough that I went to Amazon to look at it. I began reading, and by the end of Chapter 2 I knew I had to buy it. This is rare for me; I often look at a few pages of a book and move on, but I knew I couldn't stand to leave this one unfinished.

This may be the most seamlessly written novel I've ever read. Not a single question was left unanswered; continuity and logic were perfect in every detail I encountered. It's put together like a Rolex.

I've heard it said that it's impossible to find a publication without some error in it somewhere, but this book comes as close as it gets: I only found ONE mechanical error (spelling, punctuation, grammar) in the *whole thing,* the word 'me' appeared when 'my' should have. That alone makes this book shine next to the many sloppy publications I've seen lately.

The only negative criticism I could offer about this book would be that some of the later middle passages are a little slow. These are mostly introspective scenes dealing with the narrator's experiences and feelings. They weren't annoying, though; they kept me involved with the character and her plight, and these slower passages maintained a variation in pace.

Plot, characterization, dialog, and setting were all excellent.

Top-shelf stuff here.

Excellent for review of your questions for Part one MRCPCH. However you also should use your normal pediatic textbook before or along with this book as it does not give much details.

Review
“This small, elegant book is filled with the wisdom and artistry of a great man. This collection of Morihei Ueshiba’s sayings and poetry resonates with deep meaning, making this a gem of a book. The book itself is of very high quality—compact and well-bound, with clear print and beautifully reproduced images of Ueshiba’s calligraphy. A CD of the book, read in a clear, calm voice, is also a very nice inclusion. It is an important collection for the reflective artist, and practically applicable to those intent on living a grounded, sensitive life.”—Journal of Asian Martial Arts

About the Author
Morihei Ueshiba (1883–1969) was the founder of Aikido. At age eighteen, Ueshiba joined the Japanese military, during which time he also developed his skills in the martial arts. He eventually left the military, deeply discouraged by the death and destruction that results from combat. Ueshiba continued to experiment with a variety of martial arts, finding particular joy in the spiritual aspects of martial arts. He came to believe that a real warrior was one who was rooted in love, and it was in this spirit that he began to develop Aikido, a martial art that emphasizes harmony and the peaceful resolution of conflict.

Student of the Cheese Maker!
By Joshua B.
Okay, I'll admit it. I picked up this little book after watching TWD's characters Morgan and Eastman 'redirect' attacks with their Jo staves like complete badasses. I'll also admit that only a Walking Dead fan would get the title of this review.

I'm fairly certain this is the exact book is used in Season 6, Episode 4 "Here's Not Here" of AMC's The Walking Dead. If you want to see how an Aikido 'master' handles zombies in a post-appocolyptic setting, check out that episode.

This book will not teach you Aikido but imparts the philosophy and wisdom of the founder Morihei Ueshiba. The compact size of the book makes it easy to slip in a pocket and get a daily dose of poetic and inspiring prose when your day allows. Each page has one or two sentences on it that are quick to read but require me to spend time contemplating the deeper meaning.

Great supplement to The Secret Teachings of Aikido also by Ueshiba or even as an Aikido student!

Not What I Was Expecting, But Not Bad
By Christopher H
Like so many others I ordered this book because it was featured on The Walking Dead and with it being only a few dollars I decided it was worth buying. It wasn't exactly what I expected but was a good read nonetheless. I don't exactly see how Morgan could get his all life is precious philosophy from only reading this book but it does have a few philosophical phrases that I guess could be interpreted as such. This book is VERY short (I read the whole thing in under an hour) and is basically a collection of quotes and phrases from Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, and arranged by a student - John Stevens. Many of the pages are only a couple sentences long and some pages are just of Japanese Kanji with the English translations. About 50% of it has to do specifically with Aikido and the other 50% has to do more with just life in genereal. All in all really not a bad book, it just wasn't what I expected. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who studies Aikido (I personally haven't, but as a martial artist I do know quite a bit about the art and am fascinated by it) or to anyone who enjoys short little poems about life. Actually, I think most people would benefit from reading this book because I'm sure almost everyone could relate to at least one quote in it. I may check out some of the other books by John Stevens as this has gotten me more interested in the art.

Kindle expanded edition is excellent.
By Family of Five
I have the paperback and the small hard cover edition, but like the Kindle edition best. The extra two parts are solid, especially the history of Morihei Ueshiba. The art work is small but nicely incorporated. Good value for about $5. The content is of course classic and needs no comment for those have read even a little of the art of peace.

Review
So, is the Kapin and Lee book worth the $250 price? Absolutely-- and not only for those immersed in legal issues in their administrative or scholarly work. (The Book) transcends the law -- an important enough topic in itself-- to be essential reading for anyone interested in understanding the complexities of organizing and managing American Higher Education Institutions. (The Journal of Higher Ed, May-June, 2008)

From the Inside Flap
Since the 1985 publication of the second edition of The Law of Higher Education, new developments in the courts and in Congress have continued to place campuses under increased scrutiny. In this third edition of William A. Kaplin's indispensable guide to the laws that bear on the conduct of higher education, Kaplin and coauthor Barbara A. Lee provide a revised and up-to-date reference, research source, and practical guide for college administrators, legal counsel, and researchers. This third edition—with fifty percent of the material entirely new—updates the latest major developments in all of the topics covered in the previous edition and offers detailed information on a range of emerging issues including sex discrimination, hate speech, academic freedom in religious institutions, athletic scholarships, animal research, environmental laws, and much more.

From the Back Cover

Each chapter is introduced with an overview of key terms and ideas the students will encounter.

The authors will keep the book up-to-date through a Web site—www.nacua.org/publications/lohe/index.asp—hosted by the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), Washington, D.C., on which they will post pertinent new developments keyed to the Student Version, as well as to the full fourth edition. An Excellent Text for The Non-Lawyer
By The First Billionaire
The text renders court briefings, cases, filings, and rulings readable and interesting. The text is well written and pertinent to today's challenges higher education faces regarding torts and all court cases from the institution of higher education up to today's amendments to law. Navigating the United States legal system as it relates to higher educational systems can be daunting, but Kaplin has translated the text material with no loss of original meaning. As an 18 year member of a national organization of constitutional law experts, and a 19 year member of a national organization of public policy experts, this Kaplin version of law particulars that are proprietary to law speaks plainly to me, the reader.

Loved it
By Drew
I just got done with my legal class and this book was great. Some bits can be dificult to get through, but most of it is easy to read for someone with no legal background! I used it a lot for class, and I imagine I will continue to use it in my career.

Great book, good for law novice as well
By "Sleepycake"
Prior to reading this book, I had no background in legal studies. So I wasn't very excited about reading this book, because I thought that it would be full of legal terms that it would be impossible for me to understand. However, it wasn't like that. Well, yes, there are lots of legal terms, but the authors did such a great job explaining those terms in a way that it was easy to understand for a law novice like me.

We had to read the whole book for our legal class, I spent hours and hours on this book, and I don't regret it at all. It provides comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects in higher education. It begins with the sources of laws in higher education, then explores all the relationship aspects of higher education institutions, such as the relationship with its students, with the all levels of government, external agencies and organizations, etc. Each chapter provides case studies, backgrounds, and application to today's higher education. It is really a great book and wort every penny.

No matter what it is that you do in colleges and universities, the presence of legal issues are there. So I would recommend this book to law students, students studying higher educations, and everyone who works at a college or university. Everyone can find the aspects that are relevance to their course of studies or work in this book, along with learning more about other aspects that you might not know about. I learned a lot, and I am sure that you will too.

About the Author
Carol Marinelli recently filled in a form asking for her job title. Thrilled to be able to put down her answer, she putwriter. Then it asked what Carol did for relaxation and she put down the truth - writing. The third question asked for her hobbies. 'Estelle, I promise, you wouldn't have to do anything except hold Gordon's hand and dance….'

'And?' Estelle pushed, pulling down the corner on the page she was reading and closing her book, hardly able to believe she was having this conversation, let alone considering going along with Ginny's plan.

'Maybe a small kiss on the cheek or lips…' As Estelle shook her head Ginny pushed on. 'You just have to look as if you're madly in love.'

'With a sixty-four-year-old?'

'Yes.' Ginny sighed, but before Estelle could argue further broke in, 'Everyone will think you're a gold-digger, that you're only with Gordon for his money. Which you will be…' Ginny stopped talking then, interrupted by a terrible coughing fit.

They were housemates rather than best friends, two students trying to get through university. At twenty-five, Estelle was a few years older than Ginny, and had long wondered how Ginny managed to run a car and dress so well, but now she had found out. Ginny worked for a very exclusive escort agency and had a long-term client— Gordon Edwards, a politician with a secret. Which was why, Ginny had assured her, nothing would happen or be expected from Estelle if she took Ginny's place as his date at a very grand wedding being held this evening.

'I'd have to share a room with him.'

Estelle had never shared a room with a man in her life. She wasn't especially shy or retiring but she certainly had none of Ginny's confidence or social ease. Ginny thought the weekends were designed for parties, clubs and pubs, whereas Estelle's idea of a perfect weekend was looking around old churches or ruins and then curling up on the sofa with a book.

Not playing escort!

'Gordon always takes the sofa when we share a room.'

'No.' Estelle pushed up her glasses and returned to her book. She tried to carry on reading about the mausoleum of the first Qin Emperor but it was terribly hard to do so when she was so worried about her brother and he still hadn't rung to let her know if he had got the job.

There was no mistaking the fact that the money would help.

It was late Saturday morning in London, and the wedding was being held that evening in a castle in Scotland. If Estelle was going to go then she would have to start getting ready now, for they would fly to Edinburgh and then take a helicopter to the castle and time was fast running out.

'Please,' Ginny said. 'The agency are freaking because they can't get anyone suitable at such short notice. He's coming to pick me up in an hour.'

'What will people think?' Estelle asked. 'If people are used to seeing him with you.'

'Gordon will take care of that. He'll say that we had an argument, that I was pushing for an engagement ring or something. We were going to be finishing soon anyway, now that I'm nearly through university. Honestly, Estelle, Gordon really is the loveliest man. There's so much pressure on him to appear straight—he simply cannot go to this wedding without a date. Just think of the money!'

Estelle couldn't stop thinking about the money.

Attending this wedding would mean that she could pay her brother's mortgage for an entire month, as well as a couple of his bills.

Okay, it wouldn't entirely solve their dilemma, but it would buy Andrew and his young family a little bit more time and, given all they had been through this past year, and all that was still to come, they could certainly use the reprieve.

Andrew had done so much for her—had put his own life on hold to make sure that Estelle's life carried on as normally as possible when their parents had died when Estelle was seventeen.

It was time for Estelle to step up, just as Andrew had.

'Okay.' Estelle took a deep breath and her decision was made. 'Ring and say that I'll come.'

'I've already told him that you've agreed,' Ginny admitted. 'Estelle, don't look at me like that. I know how badly you need the money and I simply couldn't bear to tell Gordon that I didn't have someone else lined up.'

Ginny looked more closely at Estelle. Her long black hair was pulled back in a ponytail, her very pale skin was without a blemish, and there was no last night's makeup smudged under Estelle's green eyes because Estelle rarely wore any. Ginny was trying not to show it but she was actually more than a little nervous as to what a made-up Estelle would look like and whether or not she could carry it off.

'You need to get ready. I'll help with your hair and things.'

'You're not coming near me with that cough,' Estelle said. 'I can manage.' She looked at Ginny's doubtful expression. 'We can all look like tarts if we have to.' She smiled and Ginny laughed. 'Though I don't actually have anything I can wear…would anyone notice if I wore something of yours?'

'I bought a new dress for the wedding.' Ginny headed to the wardrobe in her bedroom and Estelle followed.

Estelle's jaw dropped when she held the flimsy gold fabric up.

'Does that go under the dress?'

'It looks stunning on.'

'On you, perhaps…' Estelle said, because Ginny was a lot slimmer and had a tiny pert bust, whereas, though small, Estelle was curvy. 'I'm going to look like…'

'Which is the whole point.' Ginny grinned. 'Honestly, Estelle, if you just relax you'll have fun.'

'I doubt it,' Estelle said, wrapping her long dark hair in heated rollers at Ginny's dressing table, and setting to work on her face under her housemate's very watchful eye. Gordon was supposed to be a womanizer, and somehow Estelle had to get the balance right between looking as if she adored him while being far, far too young for him too.

'You need more foundation.'

'More?' Estelle already felt as if she had an inch on.

'And lashings of mascara.'

Ginny watched as Estelle took out the heated rollers and her long dark hair tumbled into ringlets. 'Okay, loads of hairspray…' Ginny said. 'Oh, and by the way, Gordon calls me Virginia, just in case anyone mentions me.'

Ginny blinked a few times when Estelle turned around. The smoky grey eyeshadow and layers of mascara brought out the emerald in her green eyes, and the make-up accentuated Estelle's full lips. Seeing the long black curls framing her friend's petite face, Ginny started to believe that Estelle could carry this off.

'You look amazing! Let's see you in the dress.' 'Won't I change there?'

'Gordon's schedule is too busy. Once you land I would imagine you'll be straight into the wedding.'

The dress was beautiful—sheer and gold, it clung everywhere. It was far too revealing but it was delicious too. Ginny gaped when Estelle wobbled on very high shoes.

'I think Gordon might dump me.'

'This,' Estelle said firmly, 'is a one-off.'

'That's what I said when I first started at the agency,' Ginny admitted. 'But if it goes well…'

'Don't even think it!' Estelle said as a car tooted in the street.

'You'll be fine,' Ginny said as Estelle nearly jumped out of her skin. 'You look stunning. I know you can do this.'

Estelle clung onto that as she stepped out of her cheap student accommodation home. Teetering on the unfamiliar high heels, she walked out of the drive and towards a sleek silver car, more than a little terrified to meet the politician.

'I have amazing taste!'

Gordon greeted her with a smile as his driver held open the door and Estelle climbed in. He was chubby, dressed in full Scottish regalia, and he made her smile even before she'd properly sat down.

'And you've got far better legs than me! I feel ridiculous in a kilt.'

Instantly he made her relax.

As the car headed for the airport he brought Estelle up to speed. 'We met two weeks ago…'

'Where?' Estelle asked. 'At Dario's.'

'Dario who?'

Gordon laughed. 'You really don't know anything, do you? It's a bar in Soho—sugar daddy heaven.'

'Oh, God.' she groaned. 'Do you work?' Gordon asked. 'Part-time at the library.'

'Maybe don't mention that. Just say you do a little bit of modelling,' Gordon suggested. 'Keep it all very vague, or say that right now keeping Gordon happy is a full-time job.' Estelle blushed and Gordon noticed. 'I know. Awful, isn't it? I seem to have created this terrible persona.'

'I'm worried that I shan't be able to pull it off.'

'You'll be fine,' Gordon said, and he went through everything with her again.

They practised their story over and over on the short flight to Edinburgh. He even asked after her brother and niece, and she was surprised that he knew about their plight.

'Virginia and I have become good friends this past year,' Gordon said. 'She was ever so upset for you when your brother had his accident and when the baby was born so unwell…' He gave her hand a squeeze. 'How is she now?'

'Waiting for surgery.'

'Just remember that you're helping them,' Gordon said as they transferred to the helicopter that would take them to the castle where the very exclusive wedding was being held.

As they walked across the immaculate lawn Gordon took her hand and she was grateful to hold onto it. He really was nice—if they had met under any other circumstances she would be looking forward to this evening.

'I can't wait to get inside the castle,' Estelle admitted. She'd already told Gordon she was studying ancient architecture.

'There won't be much time for exploring,' Gordon said. 'We'll be shown to our room and there will just be time to freshen up and touch up your hair and make-up before we head down for the wedding.'

'Okay.'

'And just remember,' Gordon said, 'this time tomorrow it will all be over and you'll never have to see any of them again.'

The sound of seagulls and the distant throb of music didn't wake Raul from his slumber; instead they were the sounds that soothed him when he was startled in his sleep. He lay there, heart pounding for a moment, telling himself it was just a dream, while knowing that it was a memory that had jolted him awake.

The gentle motion of his berthed yacht almost tempted him back to sleep, but then he remembered that he was supposed to be meeting with his father.

Raul forced his eyes open and stared at the tousled blonde hair on his pillow.

'Buenos dlas,' she purred.

'Buenos dlas.' Raul responded, but instead of moving towards her he turned onto his back.

'What time do we leave for the wedding?'

Raul closed his eyes at her presumption. He had never actually asked Kelly to join him as his guest, but that was the trouble with dating your PA—she knew your diary. The wedding was to be held this evening in the Scottish Highlands. It was nothing for Raul to fly from Spain to Scotland for a wedding, but Kelly clearly thought that a few weeks out of his office and in his bed meant she was automatically invited.

'I'll speak to you about that later,' Raul said, glancing at the clock. 'Right now I have to meet with my father.'

'Raul…' Kelly turned to him in a move that was suggestive.

'Later,' he said, and climbed out of bed. 'I am supposed to be meeting with him in ten minutes.'

'That wouldn't have stopped you before.'

He took the stairs and walked up onto the deck, picking his way through the debris and the evidence of another wild Raul Sanchez Fuente party. A maid was already starting the mammoth clean up and she gave a cheery wave to Raul.

'Gracias,' she said as he gave her a substantial cash bonus without apologising for the mess. She did not mind his excesses—Raul paid and treated her well, unlike the owners of some of the yachts, who expected her to work without complaint for very little.

Raul put on his shades and walked along the Puerto Banus marina, where his yacht was moored. Here, Raul belonged. Here, despite his decadent ways, he fitted in—because he was not the wildest. Raul could hear a party continuing on, the music throbbing, the sound of laughter and merriment carrying across the sparkling water, and it reminded Raul why he loved this place. Rarely was it ever silent. The marina was full of luxurious yachts and had the heady scent of filthy money. Ludicrously expensive cars were casually parked, all the fruits of serious wealth were on display here, and Raul—dishevelled, unshaven and terribly beautiful—blended in well.

A couple of tourists stumbling home from a club nudged each other as Raul walked past, trying to place him. For he was as good-looking as any film star and clearly he was someone. People-watching was a regular activity in Puerto Banus, for amongst the tourists and locals were the rich, the famous and the notorious too.

Raul scored two out of three—though he was famous in the business world.

Enrique, his driver, was waiting for him, and Raul climbed in and gave a brief greeting, and then sat silently as he was driven the short distance to the Marbella branch of De La Fuente Holdings. He had no doubt as to what his father wanted to discuss, but his mind was going over what Kelly had just said.

'That wouldn't have stopped you before.'

Before what? Raul asked himself.

Before he lost interest?

Before the chase had ended?

Before she assumed that a Saturday night would be shared?

Raul was an island.

An island with frequent visitors and world-renowned parties, an island of endless sun and unlimited luxury, but one who preferred guests not to outstay their welcome, only allowed the superficial. Yes, Raul was an island, and he intended to keep it that way. He certainly didn't want permanent boarders and he chose not to let anyone get too close.

He would never be responsible again for another's heart.

'I shan't be long,' Raul told Enrique as the car door was lifted and he climbed out.

Raul was not looking forward to this conversation, but his father had insisted they meet this morning and Raul just wanted it over and done with.

'Buenos dlas.' He greeted Angela, his father's PA. 'What are you doing here on a Saturday?' he asked, because Angela usually flew home to her family for the weekend.

'I am trying to track down a certain Spaniard who said he would be here at eight a.m.,' Angela scolded mildly. She was the one woman who could get away with telling Raul how it was. In her late fifties, she had been employed by the company for as long as Raul could remember. 'I've been trying to call you—don't you ever have your phone on?'

'The battery is flat.'

'Well, before you speak with your father I need to go through your diary.'

'Later.'

'No, Raul. I'm flying home later this morning. This needs to be done now. We also need to sort out a new PA for you—preferably one you don't fancy!' Angela was less than impressed with Raul's brief eye-roll. 'Raul, you need to remember that I'm going on long service leave in a few weeks' time. If I'm going to train somebody up for you, then I need to get on to it now.'

'Choose someone, then,' Raul said. 'And you're right; perhaps it would be better if it was someone that I did not fancy.'

'Finally!' Angela sighed.

Yes, after having it pointed out to him on numerous occasions, Raul was finally accepting that mixing business with pleasure had consequences, and sleeping with his PA was perhaps not such a good idea.

Contract Wife, but not a pushover
By Tawnya Bentley
I enjoyed this novel, and recommend it.
Estelle Connolly went into a contract marriage with Raul Sanchez Fuente and did everything in her power and to her detriment to keep her side of the contract. She wasn't the pushover I often read about in Alpha Male romances, she simply did what was "her job" as she thought of it. Falling in love wasn't part of the job however, and the first chance she got, she left. Which makes a stronger fictional character than most real life humans.
As always Carol Marinelli made her biography bit as entertaining as always to read.

Story was exciting, two people who came together for all the wrong reasons that end up stronger for it. They start to enjoy each others company, falling in love. Story has plenty of drama, romance, and family strength.

Hmmmm...MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!
By Amazon Customer
When we first meet the hero, he is waking up next to his personal assistant and she is not the first person who works for him that he has slept with. It is known that he pays them off after their affair or that he moves them to work somewhere else. He also goes to a wedding and almost all the women there are his exes. He parties on his yacht constantly and has women all the time. He even compares the fact that the heroine is dark haired and shy and how normally a blonde with a revealing dress would be sitting next to him on his yacht. He was disgusting. If not for these revealing glimpses into his life, I probably would have liked him a little bit, especially after they were married. He was a decent guy who thought he loved the heroine before she said or thought it. That alone is rare in a romance novel but he was way too much of a player. I know that every Harlequin guy is a womanizer of some sort but I do not want to read about all your desperate exes or have my first scene with the hero in it the morning after he had sex with someone other than the heroine. It is classless and gross. Romances are about 2 main characters, not anyone else. I mean, he had sex the morning of meeting the heroine and kissing her for the first time. Is there no limit to the amount of hours a supposed hero has in between women? How horny are you that you have to sleep with a woman a night? I know he hates the silence because of his experience with his mom but he can just have parties. Sleeping with a BUNCH of women is not the answer to silence. It is crass and nasty. If I was the heroine, I would make him switch yachts and apartments if I was supposed to live with him. Who knows how many women have been in the heroine's new homes and on what surface that a woman was naked?? If you marry someone, you should start somewhere fresh where one of the partners does not have to be reminded that there were others before them and have to wonder if the other is thinking of what they did with another person where in each room. He is that gross that there probably is not a clean place in the house or yacht. He has a collection of dirty films on his yacht that the maid has to get rid of in a hurry because the hero usually has sex in that room while watching nasty films with various women at the same time. This is a warning for the future readers of this book. Without all these little bits of information, I could have liked him but I did not. Even after knowing he loved the heroine, he pays a hooker to kiss his neck and spray perfume on him to make the heroine think he was with another woman. He does this while a crisis is happening to her with her family members...such a great guy. He immediately regrets doing this when he notices he hurt her but what other reason could he have possibly done this for if not to hurt the heroine? He was a bad hero, not a bad guy, but definitely not hero material. He is the type the heroine's have dated and learned a lesson to stay away from before they get their heroes.
